RCTC has active position to promote cycling as a sustainable and healthy means of transportation and recreation in Russia and worldwide.
Social noncommercial interregional organization Bicycle Transport Union (BTU) was founded in Moscow in October 2007. RCTC is the cofounder of the BTU. The primary goal of the Bicycle Transport Union is increasing the share of cyclists and the number of bicycle trips in Russia and continuously improving the safety for cyclists.
Founded in 1983, the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF) is the umbrella federation of the national cyclists’ associations in Europe, reinforced by similar organisations from other parts of the world. On behalf of our members, we are pledged to ensure that bicycle use achieves its fullest potential so as to bring about sustainable mobility and public well-being. To achieve these aims, ECF seeks to change attitudes, policies and budget allocations at the European level. ECF stimulates and organises the exchange of information and expertise on bicycle related transport policies and strategies as well as the work of the cyclists’ movement. RCTC and BTU represent Russia in the ECF.
